Equitable education in the least restrictive environment. According to the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004, children diagnosed
with autism are entitled to just that.
But what does that mean for the 76 autistic children registered in Pope County
schools?
According to IDEA, equitable education means schools are required to provide
assistance to children with developmental needs including, but not limited to,
